Republican Tony Ada’s ticket held a narrow lead in Guam’s governor race while Democrat Alicia Anne Garrido Limtiaco led the contest for the territory’s nonvoting U.S. House delegate seat.

Ada and running mate E.J. Calvo had 15,945 votes, representing 51.45% of the unofficial total, the Guam Election Commission reported. Democratic candidates Therese Terlaje and Sabina Perez had 14,925 votes, or 48.15%, putting Ada’s ticket ahead by 1,020 votes.

Anadolu Agency reported that Limtiaco led Republican incumbent James Moylan in the delegate contest.

In a post on Truth Social, President Donald Trump congratulated Ada and called the preliminary count an “early call” for a Republican victory. The Commission has yet to certify the results.
