Guide to today’s important data and events

Lots of economic releases scheduled for today, focus is on dockets from US.

Data released so far 

  • Australia - Construction work done, dropped -3.6% in third quarter.
  • Japan - Coincident index for September rose to 112.3 from 112.2, while leading economic index dropped to 101.6 from 103.5.

Upcoming 

  • Switzerland - UBS consumption indicator for October to be released at 7:00 GMT.
     
  • France - Consumer confidence for November to be released at 7:45 GMT.
     
  • Italy - Industrial sales and orders for September to be released at 9:00 GMT, followed by retail sales report for August at 10:00 GMT.
     
  • UK - BBA mortgage approvals for October will be released at 9:30 GMT. Treasury will release Autumn forecast at 12:30 GMT.
     
  • US - Lot of economic dockets from US today. MBA mortgage applications at 12:00 GMT, followed by personal consumption expenditure report for last month at 13:30 GMT, along with weekly initial jobless claims. Durable goods report for October will also be released at 13:30 GMT, followed by house price index at 14:00 GMT and Markit services PMI at 14:45 GMT. New home sales report for October will be released at 15:00 GMT, along with Michigan consumer sentiment. EIA will release crude oil inventory report at 15:30 GMT and at 17:00 GMT for Natural gas.
     
  • New Zealand - Trade balance report for October at 22:45 GMT.
     
  • Auctions - Germany will auction 10 year bond today, while US will auction 7 year bond at 18:00 GMT.
