Guide to today’s important data and events

Not many economic dockets scheduled for today and some with high volatility risks associated.

Data released so far –

  • Australia – Westpac leading index grew 0.21 percent in April.

Upcoming -

  • Portugal – Current account balance for April will be announced today.
     
  • Switzerland – Zew survey expectations for June will be released at 9:00 GMT. Swiss National Bank will release its quarterly bulletin at 13:00 GMT.
     
  • Euro Zone – ECB may reinstate Greece’s waiver at today’s non-monetary policy meeting. Consumer confidence for June will be announced at 14:00 GMT.
     
  • United States – MBA mortgage applications will be released at 11:00 GMT. Fed’s Yellen will be testifying before congress on the second day at 14:00 GMT. Housing price index will be released at 13:00 GMT, followed by existing home sales at 14:00 GMT. EIA will release its crude oil inventory report at 14:00 GMT.
     
  • Canada – Retail sales for April will be announced at 12:30 GMT. Prior -0.3 percent.
