Lot many economic dockets to be released today, focus is on manufacturing PMI across regions. However, volume and volatility might remain low with holiday in UK.

Data released so far -

  • Australia - Building permits grew at significant pace, 23.6% in March from a year ago. Permits increased 2.8% m/m in March.
  • China - HSBC manufacturing PMI came at 48.9, down from 49.2 in March.
  • Spain - Manufacturing PMI for April registered 54.2, down from 54.3 in March.

Upcoming -

  • Switzerland - PMI to be released at 7:30 GMT. Prior 47.9
  • Italy - Markit manufacturing PMI to be released at 7:45 GMT. Prior 53.3
  • France - Manufacturing PMI scheduled at 7:50 GMT. Prior 48.8
  • Greece - PMI to be released at 8:00 GMT. Prior 48.9
  • Euro zone - Markit manufacturing PMI is scheduled at 8:00 GMT, followed by Sentix investor confidence at 8:30 GMT. Improved dockets would provide boost to European equities.
  • US - ISM New York index is to be released at 13:45 GMT, followed by factory orders at 14:00 GMT. Two Fed governor are scheduled to speak today. Evans at 16:25 GMT and Williams around 19:00 GMT.
  • Australia - AIG performance of services index to be released at 23:30 GMT.
  • Auctions - US will auction 3 and 6 month bills at 15:30 GMT.
