Guide to today’s important data and events

Lot of economic dockets scheduled for today, with high risk associated.

Data released so far -

  • Australia - Investment lending for homes grew 6.4% in March, with home loans rising at 1.6%.
  • New Zealand - REINZ house price index rose 1.1% in April, much lower than prior 6.7%.

Upcoming -

  • UK - Industrial and manufacturing production data to be released at 8:30 GMT, followed by NISER GDP estimate at 14:00 GMT.

  • Australia - Australia would announce budgetary estimates and details around 9:30 GMT.

  • India - Manufacturing and Industrial output scheduled at 12:00 GMT.

  • US - Lot of economic dockets from US, however risk associated is low. Redbook index to be released at 7:55 GMT, followed by business optimism index at 13:00 GMT and JOLTS jobs opening at 14:00 GMT. US will release monthly budgetary estimate around 18:00 GMT. FOMC member William is scheduled to give speech today.

  • New Zealand - RBNZ will release financial stability report around 21:00 GMT, followed by speech from Governor Wheeler. Vital for Kiwi, as traders would try to assess the tone of RBNZ from Governor's speech.

  • Japan - Trade balance details to be released at 23:50 GMT along with bank lending details.

  • Auction - US will auction 3 month bills at 15:30 GMT and 3 year note at 17:00 GMT.
