HDFC Bank Limited’s standalone profit grew 4.7% in the September quarter, but lower treasury trading gains left reported earnings growth below the rate the bank calculated without those gains.

The Indian lender posted net profit of ₹19,509.96 crore for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, up from ₹18,641.28 crore a year earlier, its unaudited results showed. The bank’s board approved the results Oct. 17.

The bank recorded ₹12.66 in basic earnings per share and ₹12.63 on a diluted basis. Both figures cover the quarter rather than a full year.

Treasury trading gains fell to ₹7.8 billion from ₹23.9 billion in the year-earlier quarter. HDFC Bank said its profit grew about 12.6% when those gains were excluded, compared with the 4.7% increase in reported standalone profit.

National Stock Exchange of India data showed HDFC Bank shares fell 2.31% to ₹712 on Oct. 19. The decline came amid broader weakness in Indian stocks and was covered alongside Axis Bank’s results in our earlier account of the lenders’ earnings and share moves.
