Anchorpoint Financial Limited has not announced a retail date for HKD At Par (HKDAP), while HSBC has opened Hong Kong dollar-backed RedCoin to PayMe’s 3.3 million users.

HSBC began offering RedCoin to PayMe users Friday, Oct. 23. EconoTimes previously covered the RedCoin rollout through PayMe.

At a press conference Friday, Oct. 23, Anchorpoint CEO Dominic Maffei said the company wants to develop the market over time. He said rushing the launch “does not make sense.”

Anchorpoint’s earlier guidance treated retail access in late 2026 as a possibility tied to market conditions. Maffei offered no date at the press conference.

HKDAP’s beta opened Aug. 12, with access initially limited to institutional distributors and professional investors. Anchorpoint plans to use authorized distributors to bring HKDAP to consumers; Standard Chartered received the first bank approval to distribute it.

HKT, Animoca Brands and Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) are partners in Anchorpoint Financial Limited.
