Havelsan, a Turkish defense and technology firm, announced Friday, Oct. 30, that it had signed a memorandum with the Defense Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON), setting out cooperation on cybersecurity, training and unmanned systems.

Havelsan said the signing took place at the Africa International Defense Exhibition 2026 in Nigeria, as part of its efforts to expand international partnerships. The agreement covers command and control, communications and computing, as well as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems. Other areas include cybersecurity and integrated security, information and communication technologies, simulation and training technologies, and autonomous and unmanned systems.

The parties intend to identify areas where cooperation could benefit both sides and assess possible joint technology projects. They also aim to build lasting ties in defense and technology. Havelsan said it plans to make technical expertise available to Nigerian stakeholders to help strengthen defense capabilities, and expects the framework could lead to specific projects.
