Lou Grover (Chi McBride) and Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) will stumble upon a much bigger threat that affects the entire island while investigating a murder in the next episode of “Hawaii Five-0” season 9. However, among all the characters, Grover will be the one acting most affected by the upcoming case.
“Hawaii Five-0” season 9 is returning from a one week break with a new case for Steve’s crew. McGarrett and Grover will run point on a murder investigation with the victim being a close friend to Flippa (Shawn Mokuahi Garnett). However, the 5-0 will be handling a much bigger dilemma after the duo finds a "deadly plan by an extremist group on the Island.”
The synopsis for “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 episode 14 also reveals that Grover will have “an emotional reaction to the case.” The reasons that will get Grover so worked up are still unknown. But he can be seen in episode 14’s trailer acting very enraged while interrogating a prisoner named Roger Barton (Graham Beckel).
During the encounter, Roger is seen suffering some bruises in his face that were presumably caused by Grover. In the brief snippet from “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 episode 14’s promo video, Grover angrily lunges on to Roger before slamming him hard to the wall.
It is also unclear whether Roger is linked to the murder case, the terror attack, or both. And whatever he did to make Grover this angry would have to be something very serious. The trailer for “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 episode 14 shows more previews of apprehending the terrorists than the said murder investigation. But, of course, there is always a possibility that the two cases are related.
McGarrett and the team later find out that the bombs are planted in mobile vans parked at random places across the Island. Unfortunately, they might be stretched thin in “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 episode 14 and would not be able to disarm all the explosives and might result in casualties. A new episode will air on Friday, Feb. 1, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
