ELIZABETH, N.J., Oct. 18, 2017 -- Owners of Hayward’s OmniLogic® pool and backyard automation system can now enjoy the extra convenience of voice control through Hayward OmniLogic skill for Amazon Alexa, available on products such as the Amazon Echo. The Amazon Echo family of devices includes Echo Tap, Echo Dot, Echo Show. Amazon Echo and more – all with Amazon Alexa cloud based voice service. Accessing the Hayward skill for Alexa is as easy as downloading the free Amazon Alexa app (available on iOS or Android devices) and enabling the ‘Hayward Skill,’ going to ‘smart home’ and ‘discover devices.’ Once connected, just say, “Alexa, ask Hayward for help,” or “Alexa, ask Hayward to discover my pool.”
Once you’ve enabled the Hayward skill and connected your devices, adjusting settings on your pool or backyard equipment can be done with simple voice commands. With the Hayward skill for Amazon Alexa, you can set your pool and backyard lights to a specific color, select your preferred water temperature, or turn on your spa and adjust other water features. Or if you prefer, ask Amazon Alexa to activate one of your pre-programmed OmniLogic themes to set up your entire backyard with one simple command such as “Alexa, ask Hayward to turn on my backyard lights.”
Adoption of voice service systems has grown rapidly worldwide since 2015. By the end of 2016 an estimated 45% of US households with broadband internet were reported to be using services such as Amazon Alexa on an everyday basis to control music, lights, thermostats and other smart devices around the home.
“Pool owners today are seeking the ultimate in convenience and Alexa is the perfect complement to an OmniLogic system.
