Hero MotoCorp’s consolidated profit rose 40.8% in the July-September quarter as revenue increased 22.5%, while the results also included a ₹397 crore gain tied to an associate’s capital raise.

Revenue from operations reached ₹14,970.50 crore, up from ₹12,218.39 crore a year earlier. The board approved unaudited results for the quarter and half-year ended Sept. 30 on Oct. 28.

The filing listed total consolidated profit for the period at ₹1,860.55 crore, compared with ₹1,320.98 crore a year earlier. A separate line showed ₹1,861.33 crore in profit attributable to owners, up from ₹1,308.89 crore; those figures imply growth of 42.2% on that measure.

Hero MotoCorp said quarterly and half-year results included a ₹397 crore gain from equity consolidation of an associate after it raised capital through a qualified institutional placement and a private placement.

Standalone profit after tax increased 4.6% to ₹1,456.22 crore, while standalone revenue from operations rose 21.1% to ₹14,687.43 crore. The company linked the revenue increase to volume growth, an improved product mix and pricing actions.

Standalone earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 8% to ₹1,968 crore, with a 13.4% margin. Hero MotoCorp said commodity cost pressure cut into the margin, while savings and operating leverage softened the impact.

Two-wheeler dispatches grew 10.5% to 1.868 million. Scooter dispatches increased 47.3% to 240,000, and VIDA retail sales rose 76% to 66,531 units. The figures add company-level detail to earlier coverage of India’s two-wheeler sales and Citi’s growth estimates.

Chief Executive Officer Harshavardhan Chitale said, “We delivered a strong performance this quarter, with scooters emerging as a key growth contributor.” The company scheduled an analyst and investor call for Oct. 29.
