Hindustan Unilever (HUL) shares touched ₹1,864 during BSE trading on Oct. 29, a peak gain of 3%, The Economic Times reported, after the company posted strong sales growth for its September quarter.
In an Oct. 28 filing for the quarter ended Sept. 30, HUL reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹18,226 crore, compared with ₹15,919 crore a year earlier. Net profit attributable to owners was ₹2,790 crore, up from ₹2,685 crore.
The company separately reported turnover of ₹18,071 crore. Underlying sales advanced 15%, the company’s strongest pace in 14 quarters, while underlying volume increased 7%. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 8% to ₹4,089 crore, but the EBITDA margin fell 140 basis points to 22.6%.
Profit after tax from continuing operations was ₹2,796 crore, little changed from ₹2,791 crore a year earlier. HUL cited a ₹273 crore one-time tax-related gain in the year-earlier period.
In its investor presentation, HUL said it expects FY27 performance to be better than FY26, linking that outlook to changes in its portfolio and sales channels. The company expects commodity inflation to persist in the near term and said its consolidated EBITDA margin should remain within its 22%–24% guidance range.
The Economic Times reported that Jefferies kept its Buy rating while lowering its target to ₹2,350 from ₹2,450; NDTV Profit also reported the target revision. The Economic Times also reported that Nomura cut its target to ₹2,100 from ₹2,450 and JM Financial reduced its target to ₹2,225 from ₹2,315.
The brokerage updates follow EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of Motilal Oswal’s target cut and retained Buy rating. HUL’s annual report tentatively lists Feb. 11, 2027, for its third-quarter results.
