Perhaps it was her childhood experience living abroad in the UK, where France native Oliane Piana discovered her fascination with people – how they lived, how they interacted, what made them happy, and similar thoughts were always running through young Oliane’s mind. At the time, she never could have known how her careful care and thoughtful perception of the human connection would influence her career and propel her to success in her field.
After a start in media and advertising, Oliane shifted to the e-commerce and retail space in recent years, mastering both B2B and B2C markets along the way. Her understanding of the importance of business communities set her apart from her peers. Not only was Oliane able to moderate effective dialogue and garner insights from key stakeholders, but she was able to turn those insights into action and create a continuous feedback look with customers, partners, and more.
Her career has been impressively international, with communications roles moving her to Spain, then Paris. In these roles, she began to master the market, understand the criticality of innovation, and truly comprehend how important digital tools would become in every field. After that, she joined an AdTech data-driven company, Radiumone. Her success in her new role and field she largely attributes to her natural abilities to build communities, pull from her network of resources, and learn quickly.
It wasn’t long before Oliane joined FrenchFounders, where she found her networking and community-building skills paying off yet again. This role had a signifcant impact in her life, as it also involved a relocation to the U.S. After exposure to the entrepreneurial world in this role, she made another leap. This time, she jumped to the role of co-founder, in which she lead the development of her own venture: Pulse Collab, a company that helps businesses organize their ecosystems, develops their revenue and growth strategy, and of course, builds business communities.
Pulse Collab focuses on early and mid-stage companies, by becoming their strategic and operational partner to accelerate their business growth. Pulse Collab analyzes its clients’ teams, customers, partners, and competitors to create a tailored solution for their business strategy. It’s almost as if Oliane helped create a product based on every tool she had leaned on for success in her prior roles, but even better.
It was her experience in scaling partnerships and building relationships with key stakeholders that helped Oliane realize that this approach didn’t come naturally to everyone else, hence, Oliane also played a critical role in shaping the company’s strategies, building out its value proposition for potential customers, and becoming a dominant industry leader. This year, Pulse Collab signed on its first clients, largely thanks to Oliane’s expertise.
Though working as Co-Founder and Business Developer of Pulse Collab is a demanding job, Oliane also supports the company’s main customer: Scalefast, an e-commerce solution provider. In her role at Scalefast, she does what she does best, build communities and partnerships. Scalefast decided to organize its own ecosystem by building its community and now connects thought leaders within its industry to discuss market trends, making the platform even more beneficial for its customers and partners.
If, at the beginning of a person’s career, they are told that they will be responsible for building communities, creating connection, and understanding the true needs of key stakeholders, that person would probably raise their eyebrows at you. It just doesn’t seem to fit in conventional roles, but it’s so important, especially today. Oliane has always been inspired by how people interact and exist with one another, and ultimately, that curiosity was a pillar throughout her career. She brought many organizations to a place of success by building communities and taking the time to understand people and ecosystems, then she started an entire business around it. Human connection is at the center of everything in this world, and it’s people like Oliane that harness the power of connection to have an impact.
