Hyperliquid (HYPE) gained 2.44% in an hour on Binance Tuesday, while a market snapshot 16 minutes later showed a lower price and short-position liquidations accounted for most of the reported total.
Binance’s spot HYPE/USDT price rose $2.07, from $84.74 to $86.81, by 9:04 a.m. ET (14:04 UTC). At that point, HYPE was up 0.88% from 24 hours earlier. The hourly and daily changes measure different periods.
CoinGecko and exchange spot data placed HYPE at $85.93 as of 9:20 a.m. ET (14:20 UTC), down 0.08% over 24 hours. That later figure is a market snapshot; the $86.81 reading is specific to Binance’s HYPE/USDT pair.
Across Binance, Bybit and OKX, liquidations during the reported hour reached $460,000 for short positions and $10,000 for long positions. The liquidation figures combine three exchanges, while the hourly price change tracks Binance alone.
An earlier EconoTimes update recorded a 2.06% gain on Binance and, separately, $40,000 in short-position liquidations across Binance, Bybit and OKX. It covered a different hour.
