A Form 8-K from Hyperliquid Strategies Inc. disclosed a $17 million third-quarter repurchase of about 2.7 million PURR shares as the company expanded its Hyperliquid (HYPE) holdings.

The company acquired about 9.1 million HYPE tokens for roughly $785 million. A committed equity financing facility brought in $911 million for the company during the quarter. The purchase and the financing were separate parts of the quarter’s activity.

The reported balance was 38.5 million HYPE on Sept. 30; at June 30, it was 29.3 million. At quarter-end, the company reported $254.6 million in cash and cash-like instruments, with no debt reported.

Hyperliquid Strategies estimated that 238 million HYPE were circulating on Oct. 29. Its 38.5 million tokens at Sept. 30 equaled about 16% of that estimate, which was made nearly a month after the holdings figure.

The company’s board separately approved an expanded authorization for up to $100 million in share repurchases through Oct. 31, 2027. That authorization is a ceiling; it is separate from the $17 million repurchase reported for the third quarter.
