The application would put U.S. account administration with the subsidiary, while HIP-3 operators would create the proposed markets on Hyperliquid.

A Hyperliquid Strategies subsidiary has sought U.S. futures-broker registration, a filing that could give American customers access to permissioned perpetual markets on the crypto network if regulators approve.

The company said the unit applied for futures commission merchant (FCM) status. HIP-3 lets operators add perpetual markets to Hyperliquid; the proposed company unit would manage U.S. customer accounts. Only approved wallet addresses could participate.

The proposed service cannot open to U.S. customers unless regulators clear both the firm’s registration and the markets.

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) announced Oct. 29 an agreement with Trade[XYZ] to pursue a separate U.S. venue based on Hyperliquid, as EconoTimes previously reported on the proposed venue. ICE’s plan calls for its own market and clearing structure and also requires regulatory approval.
