IHH Healthcare plans an estimated 380 departures across Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia as it consolidates support operations and redirects resources toward work it says benefits patients.
An IHH statement issued Nov. 4 said the planned departures amount to about 0.5% of its 76,000 employees. Multiplying those figures gives an estimate of roughly 380 people, but the company did not disclose an exact total or numbers for each market. It also gave no timetable or breakdown of how many employees would move to redesigned roles and how many would leave.
Some employees will shift into redesigned positions. For people leaving, IHH said it intends to provide improved severance, help with career transitions and job searches, and a confidential channel for staff seeking assistance.
Channel NewsAsia (CNA) reported that an IHH spokesperson said some departing employees received separation offers, while others were let go under established practices in their markets. CNA did not report how many workers were in either group.
IHH said it wants to make support work more consistent and move resources toward activities it believes offer greater value to patients. Clinical operations and teams working directly with patients are outside the changes, the company said. IHH also said it expects no immediate disruption for suppliers or partners and no changes to current vendor agreements.
The company linked the reorganization to a broader effort to build an integrated operating base. On June 11, IHH and Infosys announced a multiyear, AI-powered enterprise resource planning (ERP) program, a separate initiative expected to begin in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. The work will cover finance, procurement, supply chain and human capital management.
Infosys described IHH’s network as 190 health care facilities, including 89 hospitals, across 10 countries. IHH Group Chief Financial Officer Dilip Kadambi said the ERP program aims to improve cost efficiency and give teams more time to focus on patient care.
