September's services trade showed a slower pace of annual growth in both directions: exports climbed to $39.305 billion and imports to $20.097 billion, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) reported Friday.

Export growth was 7.2%, down from 13.7% in August. Import growth eased to 12.6% from 21.4% over the same period.

In July, exports totaled $38.253 billion, up 13.4% from a year earlier, while imports were $20.606 billion, up 19.1%. The RBI marked July-September data as provisional. The bank's release also says it recalculated year-over-year comparisons using balance-of-payments statistics.
