NEW YORK, Jan. 30, 2018 -- Flashpoint, the global leader in Business Risk Intelligence (BRI), has today announced that Peter George has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors. George, who has exhibited decades of successful leadership in the security industry, has most notably held leadership roles at Fidelis Cybersecurity, Crossbeam Systems, Nortel Networks, and Bay Networks.

George’s insights and acumen will contribute substantially in supporting Flashpoint in its next phase of growth and market leadership. In Q4 2017, Flashpoint announced that its client base now includes customers across 22 verticals and closed the year with its eighth consecutive quarter exceeding its bookings target. The company also gained significant traction with clients addressing BRI use cases that go far beyond traditional threat intelligence, including reducing the risk of insider threat, supporting physical security and executive protection, and mitigating risk around various types of fraud.
“I know from decades of working in the security industry that delivering intelligence from data gleaned from the Deep & Dark Web requires years of experience in tradecraft that only Flashpoint’s corps of experts can provide,” George said. “That expertise coupled with the company’s cutting-edge technology provides insights that no other vendor can provide, but every organization could use to strengthen their security and risk postures. I could not be more excited about the opportunity to help the company grow its market leadership in BRI.”
Previously, as CEO, President and Chairman of Fidelis Cybersecurity, George led the company to a market leadership position in Data Leakage Prevention (DLP), then successfully pivoted the organization to Advanced Threat Defense (ATD) before its acquisition by General Dynamics in 2012. He later orchestrated the profitable spinout of Fidelis from General Dynamics in 2015. Prior to Fidelis, George was President and CEO of Crossbeam Systems, where as founding CEO he positioned the company for market success through technology innovation and strategic partnerships. Crossbeam was later acquired by Blue Coat Systems (now part of Symantec). He also held successful leadership roles at Nortel Networks and Bay Networks.
“We are thrilled to continue our trend of attracting top industry talent with the appointment of Peter George to our Board of Directors,” said Josh Lefkowitz, CEO and co-founder of Flashpoint. “It’s a privilege to have access to Peter’s counsel, and his voice is a strong complement to the trenchant strategic guidance we’re fortunate to find in our board as we pave new ground in delivering BRI across the enterprise.”
George joins fellow Flashpoint board members Ellie Wheeler of Greycroft Partners, Glenn McGonnigle of TechOperators, Steve Leightell of Georgian Partners, independent board member Brendan Hannigan, and co-founders Josh Lefkowitz and Evan Kohlmann.
