Braden Peters, the 20-year-old influencer known online as Clavicular, pleaded not guilty Oct. 22 in Orleans District Court to three charges tied to an alleged encounter with a 17-year-old.
Reports describing the court filings list rape, administering a drug or other substance for sexual intercourse, and procuring liquor for a person under 21. They place the alleged encounter in Chatham on May 23, 2025, when the accuser was 17.
The judge set bail at $10,000 and ordered Peters to surrender his passport, avoid contact with the accuser and refrain from posting about her online. Los Angeles Magazine reported bail could be paid in cash or secured by a $100,000 surety bond. The Boston Globe reported that Judge John Julian warned Peters a new state or federal offense could result in detention without bail for up to 90 days.
Global News reported that it obtained a Chatham police report describing the woman’s account. She told police she woke the next morning to find Peters having sex with her and said she had not consented. She also said she had drunk two or three shots of vodka at his home.
Peters’ lawyers denied the allegations. The Boston Globe quoted lawyer David Meier as saying the accuser had not reported anything to police or anyone else because “there was nothing to report.” The lawyers have also said the encounter was consensual.
Los Angeles Magazine reported that Peters’ attorneys asked the court on Oct. 21 to dismiss the charges, arguing that the police reports fell short of establishing probable cause. The magazine said prosecutors had not responded by the time it published its report.
The magazine also reported that the accuser has a separate civil case in Florida. An amended complaint removed a sexual-battery claim related to the Massachusetts encounter but retained allegations about a separate livestream injection involving a fat-dissolving substance.
