After nine-month net income rose 8.1%, the bank said it expects full-year earnings to exceed €10 billion by a wide margin, citing higher fees and insurance revenue despite lower net income than in Q2.

The bank reported third-quarter net income of €2.645 billion, against €2.372 billion in Q3 2025 and €2.793 billion in Q2 2026. Operating income was €6.924 billion, up 4.2% from a year earlier but down 6.2% from the prior quarter. Net interest income reached €3.886 billion, rising 5.6% year over year and 1.1% from Q2.

For the first nine months of 2026, net income increased 8.1% to €8.199 billion. The bank said stronger fee and insurance revenue would support its revised full-year projection. Intesa expects net interest income to top €15 billion this year and rise substantially next year.

The bank said its outlook also assumes stable costs and lower provisions, while incorporating a higher tax rate and increased levies and charges on the banking and insurance industries.

Intesa reported €7.8 billion accrued for shareholder distributions, including €6.1 billion in dividends. It completed a €2.3 billion share buyback in October. The interim dividend is scheduled for payment on Nov. 25, 2026; the release lists Nov. 23 for coupon presentation and Nov. 24 as the record date.
