An Ipsos survey for the DeFi Education Fund found 35% of U.S. respondents said candidates should support building next-generation financial technology, while support was 13% when the position named blockchain, cryptocurrency and decentralized finance (DeFi).

The two figures came from different prompts, rather than a single ranking of crypto policy against other issues. One addressed development of the next generation of financial technology; the other specifically named blockchain, cryptocurrency and DeFi. That distinction matters when comparing the responses: the survey measured views on two differently framed candidate positions.

Changes that would give people greater control over their assets drew support from 74% of respondents.

Nine percent described themselves as very or extremely familiar with cryptocurrency. High trust in decentralized platforms was reported by 5% of respondents. The survey also put past-year cryptocurrency use at 13%, describing that share as unchanged.

For prospective DeFi users, speculation trailed both saving and domestic transfers among the potential applications named.
