Bloomberg reported that Alphabet’s Isomorphic Labs is discussing a $5 billion funding round at a valuation near $50 billion, putting a potential price on its AI drug-discovery business.
Bloomberg based its report on people familiar with the discussions. The talks have not produced a completed financing, and the terms may change, the report said.
In an announcement dated May 12, Isomorphic Labs said its Series B raised $2.1 billion. Thrive Capital led the round, which included Alphabet and GV.
Isomorphic Labs emerged from Google DeepMind in 2021. Its drug research uses AlphaFold, an AI model that predicts protein structures.
