An Israeli strike on an apartment in western Gaza City killed Akram Yassin and his wife, Dina, medical sources said, as deadly violence continued during the ceasefire that began in October 2025.

WAFA and Anadolu reported, citing medical sources, that the couple died in the apartment. Anadolu placed it near Al-Shifa Medical Complex. In a later report, Anadolu cited an Al-Shifa Hospital medical source who said four others were wounded, including three women.

The Israeli military said a Gaza City airstrike killed Akram Bassam Shaaban Yassin, whom it described as a senior official in Hamas’ General Security Mechanism. It alleged that Yassin advanced attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and tried to restore Hamas’ military capabilities, actions it called a ceasefire violation. The military statement did not identify an apartment or mention the woman, so the connection between its account and the couple’s deaths is unverified.

In a separate incident, medical sources told WAFA that Israeli gunfire killed a child south of Khan Yunis early Tuesday. The Gaza City deaths followed reports of Israeli strikes in Gaza on Monday.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health said in its Oct. 19 report that 1,522 people had been killed and 5,421 injured since Oct. 11, 2025, the start date for its ceasefire-period tally. Those figures predate Tuesday’s strike. A United Nations (U.N.) update covering Sept. 29-Oct. 12 also described civilian casualties in Gaza during that earlier period.
