Israeli troops searched a home in the southern Syrian village of Taranja late Monday, Syria TV reported, days after two men were detained nearby and amid a Syrian government warning over Israeli incursions.

Syria TV said it had no reports of arrests or injuries from the search. Hawar News Agency also reported the raid and said four illumination flares were fired over the area. Syria TV placed flare activity near the Jabata Al-Khashab nature reserve.

The Syrian Arab News Agency reported that Israeli forces detained two men working in olive groves near Taranja on Saturday and released them Sunday.

Syria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned Israeli incursions in Quneitra province and the Daraa countryside on Sunday. It said the operations and increased military flights threatened residents’ safety, while continued violations harmed prospects for recovery and reconstruction. The ministry called for international action.

A 1974 agreement established an area separating Israeli and Syrian forces under United Nations observation. After Bashar al-Assad’s government fell in December 2024, the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force said Israeli troops were present in the area in violation of the agreement. Israel told the United Nations at the time that its deployment was temporary and intended to address threats from armed groups.
