Dallas, June 13, 2017 -- Istation, an award-winning blended learning solution for reading, math, and Spanish, today announced that it was named a 2017 SIIA CODiE Award finalist in the Best ESL, ELL or World Language Acquisition Solution category. This category recognizes the best instructional solution for English as a Second Language (ESL), English Language Learners (ELL), and World Languages for students in the prekindergarten through 12th grade or higher education market. The category includes course-based language learning curricula and content and online supplemental instruction.

Perfect for all bilingual implementations, including dual-language models, Istation Español is different from a translated version of an English-literacy program. It is built specifically for Spanish-speaking students by Spanish language educators. Istation’s computer-adaptive Spanish reading curriculum and assessments are research-based and aligned to available state standards and Common Core state standards. Results from multiple studies prove that students who learn with Istation Español make greater gains in overall reading ability — even students at risk of reading failure.
The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier awards for the software and information industries and have been recognizing product excellence for over 30 years. The awards include 93 categories organized by industry focus within education technology and business technology. Istation was honored as one of 160 finalists across the 34 education technology categories.
“We are thrilled to be chosen as a finalist by SIIA for this prestigious award” said Richard Collins, Istation Chairman and CEO. “Istation values the SIIA CODiE Awards’ unique peer-recognized program, which serves as incredible market validation for our products’ innovative technologies and industry impact. We will continue to work diligently to produce blended learning solutions that will enrich and empower educators and students.”
The SIIA CODiE Awards are the industry’s only peer-reviewed awards program. Educators and administrators serve as judges and conduct the first-round review of all education nominees. Their scores determine the SIIA CODiE Award finalists, and SIIA members then vote on the finalist products. The scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners. Winners will be announced during a CODiE Award Winner Ceremony in San Francisco on July 26 at the Education Impact Symposium, hosted by the Education Technology Industry Network (ETIN), a division of SIIA.
