Italian industrial production falls in November

The Italian industrial production dropped in the month of November. On a sequential basis, the seasonally adjusted industrial production index dropped 1.6 percent, a further deterioration from prior month’s fall of 0.1 percent. Consensus expectations were for a fall of 0.3 percent. The percentage change of the average of the last three months with respect to the previous three months was -0.1.

On a year-on-year basis, the calendar adjusted industrial production index fell 2.6 percent. This is a further deterioration from prior month’s year-on-year rise of 1 percent. Consensus expectations were for a rise of 0.2 percent. In the period January to November 2018 the percentage change was 1.2 compared with the same period of 2017. The unadjusted industrial production index fell 2.6 percent year-on-year.
