James Hardie Industries plc will take Roku’s place in the S&P MidCap 400 on Wednesday, Nov. 11, after Fox Corporation completed its acquisition of the streaming company.
S&P Dow Jones Indices announced the roster change Nov. 6. It classifies James Hardie in Materials and Roku in Communication Services under the Global Industry Classification Standard. The benchmark tracks performance across 400 mid-sized companies, S&P says. James Hardie’s New York Stock Exchange ticker is JHX.
James Hardie makes building products, including siding and trim, interior wall and flooring materials made with fiber gypsum, and decking and railing made from composite material or PVC. Its fiscal 2026 filing says it markets these products in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Fox said each Roku Class A or Class B share held immediately before closing entitled its owner to $95.30 in cash and 0.9799 Fox Class A shares. Roku’s former owners account for about 26% of Fox’s outstanding common stock. Fox said Roku’s Nasdaq trading would end Nov. 6.
Fox projected yearly cost synergies of about $400 million within two years of closing. It also expects the acquisition to add to free cash flow per share by the deal’s second full year; both figures are company projections.
The change follows another recent S&P index update involving Okta and several other companies. James Hardie’s entry is scheduled for before the U.S. market opens Wednesday, Nov. 11.
