A jet that Agência Brasil reported was carrying Brazilian Sen. Flávio Bolsonaro reached an airport near Miami on Wednesday, following a Brazilian court order restricting his travel abroad. FlightAware records show the aircraft arrived at Opa-locka Executive Airport at 9:24 a.m. EDT after a 36-minute stop in Guayaquil.
Argentina’s National Directorate of Migration (DNM) said Bolsonaro, his wife and two daughters crossed into Argentina at 9:50 p.m. EDT Tuesday, Oct. 27, and boarded a Baires Fly S.A. flight at 10:30 p.m. with Guayaquil listed as its destination. The agency said the family met Argentina’s entry requirements. EconoTimes previously reported Argentina’s confirmation of the border crossing.
FlightAware’s history tracks the aircraft from Puerto Iguazú to Guayaquil and then to Opa-locka, but does not identify passengers. Agência Brasil reported Bolsonaro and his family were aboard for the flight from Ecuador to the United States.
Agência Brasil reported that Supreme Federal Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes issued a sealed order on Oct. 26 directing Bolsonaro to surrender his passports and prohibiting him from traveling outside Brazil. The agency said Bolsonaro made the order public on social media and missed the 24-hour deadline to hand over the documents. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva called the departure “shameful,” Agência Brasil reported.
