JinkoSolar Holding Co. unveiled a 510-watt all-black, 48-cell residential module for its Tiger Neo 5.0 line on Oct. 17, adding a premium-home model with a company-rated efficiency of 25.52%. JinkoSolar said this was the first Tiger Neo 5.0 version to reach the market.

The company also lists peak cell efficiency of 28% and a power temperature coefficient of -0.24% per degree Celsius. Those are separate specifications: 25.52% is the module’s rated efficiency, while 28% is the stated peak for its cells. JinkoSolar says the panel uses its TAC technology.

JinkoSolar’s release says the module produces about 30 watts more than conventional back-contact, or BC, products. The company’s product page describes the comparison as being with conventional “TBC” modules. Neither source names the products used as a benchmark or provides testing conditions.

The residential model’s ratings are below the maximums JinkoSolar announced for the broader Tiger Neo 5.0 line in June: output of up to 700 watts and module efficiency of 25.91%. The June figures refer to the wider line; the Oct. 17 announcement describes an all-black, 48-cell residential version.

Charlie Cao, CEO of Jinko Solar Co., Ltd., highlighted the module’s power rating and appearance as features for upscale residential installations. The announcement gave no price, shipping date or market-by-market availability.
