Jio Platforms’ first earnings report since its Oct. 28 market debut showed revenue rose 11.4% and EBITDA climbed 16.6% year over year, giving investors an initial look at the company’s operating performance.
Jio reported revenue from operations of ₹40,475 crore for the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with ₹36,332 crore a year earlier. EBITDA, which measures earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, rose to ₹21,879 crore. That measure’s margin — its share of revenue — expanded to 54.1% from 51.6%.
Jio said revenue growth and operating leverage helped raise the EBITDA margin. Average revenue per user, or ARPU, a measure of monthly revenue per customer, climbed to ₹218.8 from ₹211.4. The company said fixed-broadband promotional offers partly offset gains from customer mix and higher usage.
Jio added 9.1 million net subscribers during the quarter, while monthly churn was 1.6%. Its customer base reached 542.4 million, including 300 million 5G subscribers. Average monthly data use per customer was 44.2 GB, and total data traffic rose 22.1% from a year earlier.
The company identified subscriber additions, digital-services growth and higher ARPU as business drivers. Managing Director Akash M Ambani welcomed new shareholders, saying Jio was entering “a new era as a listed company.” Jio shares began trading Oct. 28, making this its first earnings report since the listing.
Reliance Industries’ Q1 FY27 release reported revenue from operations of ₹39,173 crore and EBITDA of ₹20,865 crore for Jio Platforms. Both figures were below the amounts reported for July-September.
Jio’s board had scheduled a review of the quarterly and half-year results for Oct. 30, and the company released the figures after that review. EconoTimes previously covered Jio Platforms’ scheduled results review.
