KRBL Limited's fiscal second-quarter profit climbed 50% year over year as faster domestic sales helped offset a fall in exports, according to a results presentation the Indian rice producer filed with exchanges.
Consolidated revenue from operations reached ₹1,727 crore in the quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with ₹1,511 crore in the same period a year earlier, a 14% increase. Profit after tax was ₹259 crore, versus ₹172 crore; KRBL's presentation lists growth of 50%. The figures cover unaudited results for the three months ended Sept. 30. EBITDA, or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, advanced 45% to ₹373 crore from ₹257 crore.
Domestic revenue excluding power sales was ₹1,390 crore, 33% higher than the year-earlier quarter and the company's highest quarterly total. KRBL said gains in both sales volume and realizations drove the result. Export revenue totaled ₹297 crore, down 31%; the company connected the decrease to reduced shipments to the Middle East.
Margins improved in the quarter: EBITDA margin rose to 21.1% from 16.6%, while gross margin reached 34.5% versus 29.2%. The company linked stronger gross margin to price increases and a shift in sales mix. Other expenses were ₹179 crore, up 29% from ₹139 crore; KRBL said those costs took some of the lift out of EBITDA growth.
For the first half ended Sept. 30, revenue from operations totaled ₹3,223 crore, up 4% from ₹3,095 crore, and profit after tax was ₹520 crore against ₹323 crore a year before. The presentation reported KRBL’s packaged basmati rice market shares for MAT September 2026 at 36.2% in general trade and 39.6% in modern trade, citing RMS data. It reported a 41.1% e-commerce share at the September 2026 exit, based on internal figures.
KRBL's exchange notice had scheduled a call on the quarterly and half-year results for 1:30 a.m. ET (noon IST) Nov. 3.
