Kaspa (KAS) is scheduled to cut its newly issued subsidy per block by about 5.6% at the next tier, with the change triggered by the network’s score-based schedule.

The current subsidy is 2.06017223 KAS per block, compared with a projected 1.94454365 KAS at the next tier. Kaspa’s official site lists a target of 10 blocks per second, and its consensus code applies that rate to per-second subsidies of 20.60172230 KAS currently and 19.44543648 KAS at the next tier to calculate the per-block amounts.

Kaspa’s consensus code uses the network’s difficulty-adjustment (DAA) score to select the subsidy month, with the tier advancing when the score reaches the relevant threshold.

Each monthly step multiplies scheduled issuance by 2^(-1/12), reducing it by about 5.61%. After 12 steps, the scheduled rate is half its earlier level.

Kaspa’s consensus code accounts for transaction fees separately from the subsidy. Miners’ total receipts include those fees alongside newly issued KAS.
