Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s alleged feud was once again ignited after the Duchess of Sussex’s best friend, Jessica Mulroney, seemingly targeted the Duchess of Cambridge on social media.
Earlier this week, Mulroney shared Mohamad Fakih’s fundraising video to raise money for the families of the 63 Canadian nationals that were killed while onboard Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752. Iranian missiles reportedly shot down the plane.
In her caption, Mulroney said that helping the families pick up the pieces following the devastating incident is what matters in life. She also encouraged everyone to support the fundraiser.
Around the same time, Kensington Palace shared two photos of the Duchess of Cambridge when she met the Holocaust survivors. The Duchess of Cambridge accompanied the post with a touching caption.
At first glance, the two posts seem unrelated to each other. But some supporters of Prince William’s wife were convinced that Mulroney’s statement about spreading the stories of incredible people was a dig at Middleton, whose engagement wasn’t as important.
On Twitter, some royal fans sided with Middleton, and they mocked Mulroney for allegedly bullying the future queen. They also targeted her over the way she dresses, and Mulroney was slammed for being friends with the Duchess of Sussex.
“Jessica is vain, greedy, and grubby,” Twitter user @Karen6420 said.
“I’ve seen her butt in a bikini. That is not her real butt in the blue dress,” Twitter user @FetchingCoffee said.
“Not body shaming but she looks terrible in this dress. No mirrors?” Twitter user @livelovehike1 said.
“The pictures that Catherine has taken are now part of the historical record of the courage shown by the survivors of the Holocaust. Future generations will learn from these. Catherine is a force for change. M will never be able to compete with her,” Twitter user @traceyinhull said.
Meanwhile, Mulroney responded to some of the hateful comments by indirectly saying that her post didn’t have anything to do with Middleton. Her husband also came to her defense.
“In what world does a Jewish woman or anyone for that matter call a Holocaust picture ‘pretty?’ This interpretation of my Instagram story is truly devastating to me and my Jewish family,” she wrote.
