Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is due in Türkiye on Wednesday, Oct. 28, for an official visit focused on bilateral cooperation and regional and global issues, Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications said.

Presidency’s Head of Communications Burhanettin Duran announced the visit on NSosyal, saying it was at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Duran said the meetings would review cooperation between the countries, consider ways to deepen relations and cover regional and international developments.

The trip follows a parliamentary push for closer ties. In Bishkek on Oct. 20, Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus urged stronger cooperation between the two countries’ legislatures and described Kazakhstan as Türkiye’s largest trading partner in Central Asia, according to Türkiye’s parliament.

Kurtulmus also highlighted the Middle Corridor’s role in east-west commerce and invited Kazakh parliamentary chief Aibek Dadebay to the COP31 Parliamentary Meeting, scheduled for Nov. 16 in Antalya. Türkiye’s parliament and the Inter-Parliamentary Union are organizing the meeting.
