Acquisitions lifted Kemira Oyj’s third-quarter revenue 3%, but operative EBITDA fell 18% as input-cost inflation squeezed profitability, the company said in an interim report issued Oct. 23.
Revenue came to €708.9 million, compared with €687.7 million in the year-earlier quarter. Kemira said acquisitions generated most of the reported increase. Revenue was stable in local currencies after excluding acquisitions and divestments.
Kemira reported higher sales prices and lower volumes than a year earlier. That combination left acquisitions as the main support for headline growth, while lower volumes limited sales from the existing business. The figures show a gap between reported revenue growth and the flatter adjusted comparison.
Kemira linked its main cost pressure to inflation associated with the conflict in the Middle East. Kemira said customer repricing did not fully absorb inflation in raw materials and other variable expenses. Operative EBITDA fell to €112.8 million from €137.3 million, and its margin narrowed to 15.9% from 20%, showing that profitability weakened as revenue increased.
Diluted earnings per share declined to €0.21 from €0.38. Operating cash flow also fell, to €57 million from €132.2 million a year earlier.
The company left its 2026 outlook unchanged, forecasting revenue of €2.6 billion to €3 billion and operative EBITDA of €400 million to €500 million. Kemira estimates higher raw-material and logistics costs will add about €100 million to its 2026 cost base, with price increases expected to recover roughly half.
Management expects demand to remain broadly steady in the fourth quarter, while raw-material costs remain volatile. Kemira’s next scheduled financial update is its 2026 Financial Statements Bulletin on Feb. 9, 2027.
