“Kingdom Hearts 3” has only been released for a little over a week now. But speculations about the upcoming downloadable contents (DLC) are already up.
Shortly after the launch of “Kingdom Hearts 3,” several players have already noticed some key details missing from the game. Streamer EdoNinja shared a gameplay screenshot from an earlier installment and commented, “I just realized Mysterious Tower was cut from KH3. Remember this, guys?”
This is an interesting observation considering that Mysterious Town was one of the highly anticipated playable worlds in “Kingdom Hearts 3.” For some reason, Square Enix developers decided to cut it out of the first full version of the game.
Other “Kingdom Hearts 3” fans replied on EdoNinja’s Twitter post and shared their observations. One player commented that Eeyore is noticeably missing-in-action in 100 Acre Wood map. This is quite bizarre especially considering that Eeyore is a popular companion of Winnie the Pooh. These remarks have led fans to one theory that the missing important worlds, characters, and other anticipated contents are going to be released through post-launch DLCs.
Square Enix has not announced a Season Pass for “Kingdom Hearts 3” and at this point, it is safe to assume that it is not going to happen. Season Passes have been a trend in popular games and a separate purchase from the base game giving players automatic access to post-launch DLCs once they arrive.
There are still no clear plans about the “Kingdom Hearts 3” post-launch DLCs. But game director Tetsuya Nomura previously implied they are open to expanding the gameplay through these additional contents.
“In this day and age, most major titles do have some kind of content releases after their release. So since I considered ‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ to be one of those major titles, I do want to have something to add to your enjoyment of ‘Kingdom Hearts 3,’ so maybe you could continue to play a little longer than release, but we haven't really thought of anything in detail yet,” Nomura told IGN.
