Russian attacks killed one person and injured 14 in Kyiv, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said, while a strike damaged Pivdennyi Bridge metro infrastructure and disrupted metro service.

Klitschko said nine of the injured were hospitalized. The attacks began Monday evening and continued into Tuesday.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) said damage in Desnianskyi district included a university building, dormitories and nearby homes. The State University of Trade and Economics separately reported damage on its campus. Klitschko and the Kyiv City Administration said the bridge strike damaged metro infrastructure and prompted transport changes.

Euronews' video report showed firefighters rescuing a dog from the rubble; the outlet reported that the dog's owner had been killed.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia's overnight assault on Ukraine involved 16 ballistic missiles and more than 280 drones. Ukraine's Air Force said 255 of the 280 drones were neutralized, along with two ballistic missiles. Those totals apply across Ukraine and are not Kyiv-only figures.

Zelenskyy urged faster shipments of missiles for the Patriot and NASAMS air-defense systems.
