Ever since Hideo Kojima split from Konami back in 2015, fans of the eccentric video game legend have been clamoring for any news on his next projects. After signing on with “Sony” to create a “PlayStation”-exclusive game, very little has been released to the public. As such, when Gamespot featured a photo of the studio’s new mascot named “Ludens,” it sparked an immediate reaction.
The image in question featured the figure wearing a skull mask and the "Extravehicular Creative Activity Suit," along with a caption near the bottom stating: “I’ll keep coming.” When the mascot was first revealed in typical Kojima fashion, many gaming websites, including Gamespot stipulated that the image had something to do with the new video game that the “Metal Gear” series creator was working on. The studio denied that such was the case at the time, though, and they repeated the same denial with this latest reveal.
"This is not an image of the game which we are working on, "Kojima Productions producer Ken-ichiro Imaizumi said to Gamesopt. “This is not a screenshot."
As for the main man himself, when asked to say more about the image, Kojima was his usual, secretive self.
"You can freely imagine whatever you see," he said.
Pertaining to the caption “I’ll keep coming” though, Gamesradar proposed that it could have something to do with how Kojima feels about his departure from his previous partner company. It would certainly seem apt, considering how Konami treated him.
However, the site offered another potential meaning behind those words by featuring a Tweet from a user named Tarak Chami.
