Reuters reported Monday that the Kremlin believed Ukrainian forces used last week's local pause near Oleshky to regroup, while saying it lacked details about Russian troop activity during the truce.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow assumed Ukrainian troops had used the break to regroup. He called that “standard practice” and referred questions about Russian forces to the Defense Ministry.
Ukraine's General Staff accused Russian forces of rotating units, fortifying positions, expanding anti-drone measures along roads and increasing logistics activity, including ammunition deliveries.
Reuters reported that the pause brought humanitarian aid to the area and enabled residents to leave. Peskov said Moscow was not preparing another pause of that kind for now. He said he could not confirm whether Russian troops had used the halt to regroup as well.
