Krispy Kreme first launched its vegan donut in the United Kingdom in December last year, and at that time, it is only offering a plant-based alternative for its original glazed donuts. One year after that initial debut, the coffee and donut house has come up with three new exciting flavors and they are all vegan.
Krispy Kreme UK saw the huge success of its animal-free glazed donuts thus this year, it is releasing three premium sweet fried dough options.
As posted on Delish, the new flavors include the Fudge Brownie Bliss, a donut with chocolate filling and topped with brownie bits; the Apple Crumble which comes with smooth custard and apple filling then topped with cinnamon crumble; and the Caramel Choc Delight that has caramel fillings and the top is coated in Belgian chocolate. It is completed with a drizzle of caramel and chocolate icing.
All of the new vegan Krispy Kreme flavors are priced at £2.35 each and a dozen cost £14.45. For customers who would like to go for the dozen, each box contains two of each new vegan flavor and six vegan original glazed donuts.
“We are really excited to bring this range to customers and spread a little joy in January,” Delish quoted Krispy Kreme UK and Ireland’s head of innovation, Louise Direito, as saying in a statement. “We are confident it delivers on the irresistible taste we are known and loved for whilst being accessible to a broader network of customers.”
The Vegan Society marketing manager, Ericka Durgahee, also commented, “The Vegan Trademark team are thrilled to see Krispy Kreme expanding their vegan options and making them available across the country.”
Meanwhile, the new vegan donuts are coming to Krispy Kreme stores across the U.K. starting Dec. 31 and they will continue to be sold beyond January 2022. Customers can also get these new flavors through pick-up or delivery via Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Just Eat.
Finally, as a treat to customers for the release of additional vegan donuts, those who will buy one this January can get another one for free. Fans can visit the Krispy Kreme UK website for more details about this offer.
