Lam Research enters its Oct. 21 earnings call after reporting a 30% annual rise in June-quarter revenue and projecting a September-quarter midpoint more than 20% higher.
Revenue for the three months through June 28 came to $6.722 billion, about 30% more than the $5.171 billion reported a year earlier. Lam’s diluted GAAP result was $1.81 per share. Lam sells systems used in semiconductor wafer production and provides parts and support for that equipment.
Lam’s forecast for the quarter ended Sept. 27 centered on $8.10 billion, with a $400 million band in either direction. At that level, the forecast is over one-fifth above the June-quarter total. June’s $6.722 billion is recorded revenue; the September-quarter figure remains a projection.
Growth differed by product category. Lam said June-quarter NAND revenue reached twice the prior quarter’s level. It projects advanced-packaging revenue to be more than 70% higher year over year in calendar 2026.
Lam booked $2.472 billion in its customer support and other category for the June quarter, up 42.6% from $1.734 billion in the same quarter a year earlier. That total combines support, replacement parts and upgrades with new and refurbished equipment outside the leading edge. Machinery is part of the measure, so the rise alone does not show growth in recurring services.
Chipmakers’ equipment purchases fluctuate with shifts in chip supply, demand and prices and with manufacturers’ decisions on capacity. Those choices shape the timing of orders from suppliers such as Lam, linking equipment sales to customers’ investment plans. Sales to China represented 34% of Lam’s fiscal 2026 revenue. Export licensing has narrowed access for some products and may have further revenue effects.
Lam Research President and CEO Tim Archer said, “AI-driven demand continues to reshape the semiconductor industry.” The company plans to hold its earnings call at 5 p.m. ET (21:00 UTC) on Oct. 21.
