Mountain View, CA, Dec. 02, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WSO2 today announced that the SIBUR Group relies on an integration platform built on WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus (WSO2 ESB) to support its enterprise content management (ECM) system. Using the platform, SIBUR, a leader in the production of gas and petrochemical products, has increased the transparency, efficiency and management of its business processes. The implementation is outlined in a new case study from WSO2, which can be downloaded at http://wso2.com/casestudies/sibur-powers-content-integration-with-platform-built-using-wso2-enterprise-service-bus.
Integrating Systems in the Highly Regulated Petrochemical Industry
SIBUR is headquartered in Moscow, but its gas processing and petrochemical operations have a global reach. With more than 25,000 employees, SIBUR operates 26 production sites with over 1,400 large customers in the energy, automotive, construction, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), chemical, and other industries in approximately 75 countries worldwide. Centralized document management is critical for enabling effective processes and operations throughout the organization.
The case study examines how SIBUR Group turned to CROC—a WSO2 partner that leads the Russian systems integration market and is one of the 10 largest IT companies in Russia—to integrate the ECM system with its applications. The project was designed to ensure the simultaneous operation of various systems, which each had their own data formats, and it leveraged a service-oriented architecture (SOA) based on open source technologies.
"During the project, we had to integrate the system with key applications of all of the Holding's companies and develop adapters for various data formats. For example, at one time during the project, the customer operated several ERP systems at once: one to close the previous reporting year, and another to open a new reporting year. The ECM solution needed to work with both of these systems in parallel. Using the integration platform based on WSO2 ESB, we managed to achieve consistency of information across corporate systems of all SIBUR companies. This is a reliable, flexible and scalable bus," said Alexey Smirnov, head of the integration solutions practice at CROC.
"As a leading provider of energy products, the SIBUR Group relies on the delivery of consistent information to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of its operations," said Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana, WSO2 founder, CEO and chief architect. "We are excited by the success of CROC in using our WSO2 ESB to implement an integration platform that is enabling SIBUR’s enterprise content management system to work with systems across the organization in optimizing its processes."
