VANCOUVER, B.C., May 08, 2018 -- The LoRa Alliance™, the global association of companies backing the open LoRaWAN™ standard for internet of things (IoT) low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs), announced that its 10th All Members Meeting and Open House will focus on the theme of “Achieving Business Value with LoRaWAN.” Taking place in Vancouver, Canada from June 4-7, 2018, members and guests will gather to learn about existing LoRaWAN implementations and use cases, as well as their return on investment (ROI). Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience the Market Place featuring member companies’ products and services that leverage LoRaWAN technology.
“I look forward to welcoming members and guests to Vancouver and sharing the excitement of our ecosystem,” said Donna Moore, CEO and Chair of the LoRa Alliance. “LoRaWAN technology is uniquely well-positioned for the IoT with network coverage in approximately 100 countries, flexibility to choose between public and private networks, bidirectional communications and a dynamic member ecosystem that actively collaborates to advance the specification. There is an excellent window of opportunity right now for LoRaWAN and we look forward to showcasing the value and ROI that our members –– and end users –– are achieving today with their existing implementations.”
The 10th All Members Meeting & Open House is sponsored by the following members: Kerlink (Platinum), Semtech and eleven-X (Receptions), Actility, OrbiWise, QuaeNet and Semtech (Gold), TEKTELIC Communications and TÜV Rheinland (Silver), MultiTech (Lunch) and SGS (Break). Additionally, we will have a vibrant Market Place where members will share an impressive array of LoRaWAN products and services that are actively enabling global technology rollouts.
On Wednesday June 6, the LoRa Alliance will hold its All Members Meeting, open to all current alliance members. The program will feature a series of guest speakers, including James Brehm of James Brehm & Associates, Shrikant Shenwai of the Wireless Broadband Association, as well as a smart-city panel comprised of Gerard Peets of Canada's Smart City Challenge, Jessie Adcock from the City of Vancouver and Sean Simpson from the City of Surrey. An impressive program will showcase real-world use cases and implementations that validate how LoRaWAN is already achieving value for end users.
Thursday June 7, the LoRa Alliance will host a dynamic Open House program that is open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the LoRa Alliance’s vision, experience the breadth and depth of LoRaWAN implementations taking place, and understand the ROI members and end-users are achieving. The program also includes a LoRaWAN 101 session and multiple hands-on workshops to learn how easy it is to get started with the technology.
