Ahead of Tesla’s Oct. 21 results, a Hyperliquid wallet opened long positions tied to the automaker and two chip funds after exiting a Bitcoin (BTC) position at a loss, Lookonchain reported.
The closed position held 1,355.6 BTC and was valued at $110.85 million, the on-chain tracker said. Lookonchain reported a $3.26 million realized loss for the wallet it labeled 0x30af.
The new positions involve contracts tied to the Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X ETF (SOXL) and Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM), as well as Tesla, according to Lookonchain. The Tesla position is a contract linked to the company’s share price; it does not give the wallet Tesla shares.
Hyperliquid’s HIP-3 rules let builders launch perpetual markets and choose specifications such as leverage limits and the oracles that supply prices. EconoTimes previously reported a 76.3% rise in open interest for a Tesla-linked contract around Tesla’s Roadster presentation.
Tesla plans to release third-quarter results after U.S. markets close Wednesday, Oct. 21. Its webcast is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET (21:30 UTC).
