A proposed intelligence-sharing pilot for crypto firms could help federal authorities disrupt stolen-fund transfers, Sen. Cynthia Lummis said, describing it as part of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act.

Lummis put the theft's value at $6.3 billion, saying the assets moved between blockchains within minutes.

The Senate voted 49-50 on Sept. 15 against invoking cloture on a motion to proceed to H.R. 3633, leaving the measure pending at that point. The vote did not decide final passage, as EconoTimes' earlier account of the vote reported.
