MacPaw said Oct. 15 that its Eney assistant is available for Mac and iPhone, while its privacy notice says cloud processing is enabled by default for requests.

MacPaw says the assistant can use activity across a user's software, documents and schedule to surface tasks. It can alert users to upcoming calls, offer optional transcription and prepare notes, action items and a draft follow-up invitation for approval. Other listed tools include summaries, translations, and currency or time-zone conversions.

The company lists compatibility with Apple Mail, Calendar and Reminders, as well as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, Jira and Linear. By default, Eney waits for approval before sending a message, editing a calendar event or moving a file; MacPaw says users can allow it to take more actions. The launch release lists eight supported languages.

MacPaw's privacy notice says file reading and searches on a Mac take place on the device, but relevant results may be sent to AI providers. It names OpenAI and Anthropic for handling requests and responses, and lists Google for image generation. The notice says Eney does not currently use a local model to answer requests.

MacPaw dates Eney's first release to May 2025. In a December 2025 post, the company described a Setapp-only version that used on-device processing by default. In August 2026, MacPaw and Liquid AI said they were developing local AI for Mac and expected results for Eney later that year, without giving a specific date.

Eney's site lists a 14-day trial with 10,000 AI credits and monthly plans of $14.99 for 10,000 credits, $29.99 for 20,000 and $49.99 for 30,000. The site lists Mac support for M-series computers running macOS 15 or later; Apple's App Store listing says the iPhone app requires iOS 26 or later. The pricing page's tax wording differs: its cards indicate tax is added, while other text says prices include applicable taxes.
