SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 21, 2017 -- MapR Technologies, Inc., provider of the Converged Data Platform that integrates analytics with operational applications in real time, announced today its keynote and several other speaking sessions taking place at Strata Data Conference, held at Javits Center in New York City, September 25-28. MapR will be in booth #415 showcasing the MapR Converged Data Platform, which enables customers to capture the power of big data by applying analytics in real-time to operational applications to improve business outcomes.
The MapR keynote at Strata will highlight approaches customers are taking around the world as they craft enterprise-wide data strategies that range from creating breakthrough apps using new technologies to architecting multi-cloud global data fabrics.

What: Anil Gadre, EVP and chief product officer at MapR, will present his keynote, “A whole new way to think about your next-gen applications,“ where he will address the challenges of building applications that harness all data types and sources. Anil will share how converged capabilities ranging from cloud-scale data store to powerful database and integrated persisted streaming create new possibilities for enterprise developers looking to architect, develop and deploy applications that were impossible until now.
There will also be complimentary O’Reilly books and author signings at the MapR booth. Ted Dunning, PhD, board member of the Apache Software Foundation and chief application architect at MapR; and co-author Ellen Friedman, PhD, principal technologist at MapR and Apache committer, will unveil their 8th book at the conference. Book signings will take place on Wednesday, September 27 from 3:35-4:15 PM and Thursday, September 28 from 10:45-11:20 AM.

Paul will also share real-world customer case histories that highlight how these approaches interact.

What: In this session, “Tensor Abuse in the Workplace,” Ted Dunning will demystify modern tensor-based computation systems by showing how they really just implement incredibly simple operations and allow us to express these operations very concisely. Ted will present how they can be used for a number of other computations — offering examples using TensorFlow that illustrate this simplicity and sophistication.
