BLOOMINGTON, Minn., Aug. 09, 2017 -- MatrixCare announced today that it has entered into a National Pharmacy Integration and Electronic Medication Administration Record (“eMAR”) Agreement for Senior Living with Omnicare. The Agreement features MatrixCare’s next-generation CareAssist nursing platform which combines eMAR and Point-of-Care functionality to help streamline workflows while improving documentation for frontline caregivers in Assisted Living and Senior Living Communities.
MatrixCare CareAssist communicates with Omnicare proprietary software platforms in a “pharmacy-centric” order entry configuration. With this real-time integration, MatrixCare CareAssist dramatically decreases data-entry time and improves medication order accuracy, increases caregiver efficiency, and enhances medication safety for Assisted Living and Senior Living Communities who utilize Omnicare pharmacies and Omniview software.
“Effective medication management is a critical factor in providing high quality care to seniors. The combination of MatrixCare CareAssist and real-time pharmacy-centric integration with Omnicare will significantly improve the efficiency of those providing care for Senior Living residents while reducing medication-related errors,” said MatrixCare’s President & CEO John Damgaard. “We are very excited to enter into this agreement and partnership with Omnicare, which will allow MatrixCare to tap into Omnicare’s extensive network of pharmacies and specialized Senior Living Pharmacy Services.”
