Maximize Market Research forecasts the global drone market will more than double by 2034, tying the outlook to defense investment and wider commercial use of unmanned aircraft.
In a release dated Oct. 15, Maximize Market Research (MMR) put the market at $9.23 billion in 2025 and projected $21.41 billion in 2034. The firm states a 9.8% compound annual growth rate for 2026–2034. It identifies 2025 as the base year and 2020–2025 as the historical period.
MMR cites defense investment and commercial adoption of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), alongside advances in artificial intelligence and autonomous flight. It says military and commercial users are adopting aerial technologies to improve operational efficiency, surveillance and data-driven decision-making, but provides no measure of those benefits.
The technologies MMR highlights include machine learning, flights beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS), LiDAR, thermal imaging, drone swarms, 5G and advanced navigation. Its application coverage ranges from agriculture and logistics to infrastructure inspection, construction, energy, surveillance and emergency response.
In the company’s regional assessment, North America ranks first. MMR links Asia-Pacific growth to drone manufacturing in China and the UAV industry in India. For Europe, it points to development involving autonomous drone uses and defense technologies.
MMR’s public report page also lists a $17.42 billion market estimate for 2032 and labels the growth rate 9.8%. That endpoint does not match the stated rate and $9.23 billion base: 9.8% annual growth over seven years would produce about $17.76 billion. The page does not explain the difference.
